# Spooldoc > Spooled files into documents, for IBM i. Open output management. Spooldoc turns IBM i spooled files into documents. It watches your output queues and reads each spooled file into JSON with a definition you write in YAML. Templates in HTML, Word or Excel make PDF, HTML, DOCX or XLSX files, delivered to a download or a folder in the IFS. The agent proposes the first definition and template from a sample; you check every value next to the page. Nothing is installed on the IBM i. MIT licensed. - Open source under the MIT license, by Ström Capital Oy. Source: https://github.com/Strom-Capital/spooldoc - Latest release: 0.3.1. Release notes: https://github.com/Strom-Capital/spooldoc/releases - Runs as a container image, `ghcr.io/strom-capital/spooldoc`, on amd64 and arm64, with Postgres and a Carbone server for rendering. One Compose file starts all three. - For IBM i (AS/400, iSeries). Connects through jt400 on the host server ports. Nothing is installed on the IBM i, and programs need no changes. - Output: PDF, HTML, DOCX and XLSX. Destinations: Spooldoc download and a folder in the IFS. - The agent in the job builder proposes the definition and the template from a sample spooled file. It uses an AI model you choose: Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway or a local model. Spooldoc works without a model. ## Site - [Home](https://spooldoc.com/): what Spooldoc does, with screenshots and the architecture - [Features](https://spooldoc.com/features/): each feature in depth - [Docs](https://spooldoc.com/docs/): the guides, the same files the app shows - [Blog](https://spooldoc.com/blog/): posts and release notes - [Changelog](https://spooldoc.com/changelog/): every change in each release, newest first ## Features - [Servers and queues](https://spooldoc.com/features/#servers-and-queues): Your programs print as they always have.
